ABOUT

For Forest Graham, sound is a material as alive as wood, wire, or light; something that breathes, resonates, and transforms. The American electro-acoustic composer, sound artist, visual artist and designer works where technology meets intuition, building a world where tone and texture blur into image and space. His practice drifts between music, noise, painting and sculpture, treating each as a way of listening to the unseen architecture of experience.

Performing under the name Forrest Lawn, he composes through feedback, resonance, and chance; improvisations that trace the contour of memory and machinery alike. Through his project Fieldwork Devices, Graham designs and hand-builds effects pedals and esoteric electro-acoustic instruments; tools that extend both the hand and the ear, instruments that invite conversation between human and circuit.

He lives and works in the American Southwest, where open landscapes and quiet distances seep into the tone of his work.
